To find words at a young age is a gift. Writing isn’t an easy skill: it is something that is honed with time, and the result speaks for itself—literally. To show up to write consistently is half the work, and it can be made easier with creative writing journals and workbooks. Young writers can hear from authors who have done it before and use exercises to really get those creative juices flowing.
This list is here for aspiring young writers, for whatever their preferred form of expression may be: from fiction to poetry and graphic novels. I hope it becomes a part of their writing journey that holds them, guides them, and encourages them. The world awaits their words. Write on!

The stickers can end up in other notebooks to remind kids to come back to writing in this one. They can even receive certificates for completing tasks that they can proudly put up! It is full of engaging illustrations and inspiration.

Write Your Own Poems by Jerome Martin
Personally, poetry was my starting point into the world of words when I was a kid. I can still vividly recall the verses of the first poem I wrote when I was eight. I loved both reading and writing it, and it’s still my favourite way to express myself. A guide like this would have been an absolute game-changer if I had found it two decades ago. But I’m so excited for kids today to use it to write limericks, sonnets, epic poems, or whatever helps them explore their hearts the best!
