Author Kristy Dominiak to lead salon at Summerville Book Festival
The Summerville Book Festival will spotlight stories of resilience and personal transformation the weekend of Feb. 27-28 with “Healing with Words,” a special author salon and book signing featuring life coach, speaker and award-finalist author Kristy Dominiak.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at Main Street Reads, and brings together Dominiak and a panel of authors whose works explore healing, faith, trauma and personal empowerment. Dominiak will facilitate the salon, which is designed to foster open conversation about turning adversity into purpose.
Dominiak is the author of “The Shaken Snow Globe: Finding Happiness Beyond My White Picket Fence,” a memoir that documents her journey from perfectionism to self-discovery. The book recounts the unraveling of the life she once believed she was meant to live – and the inner transformation that followed. In it, she reflects on confronting personal challenges, rebuilding her identity and embracing authenticity over expectations.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a former president of Bliss Spiritual Co-op in Mount Pleasant, Dominiak now works as a life and empowerment coach. She frequently speaks about topics such as courage, burnout, self-worth, and creating meaningful relationships. Her work has been featured on 30Seconds Live, MotherhoodTV and Low Country Spotlight.
At the Feb. 28 salon, Dominiak will be joined by authors Henley Carr, Maria Cruz, Robert Dorchak Jr., Sarah Marie and Terri McCrea. Each will share personal insights from their books, followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
The event is part of the 2026 Summerville Book Festival, a multi-day celebration of local and regional authors. Main Street Reads will host the featured writers throughout the weekend.
In a recent bookstore appearance at Main Street Reads, Dominiak greeted readers and signed copies of “The Shaken Snow Globe,” emphasizing her mission to help others “unburden, reconnect with themselves, and step boldly into their most authentic lives.”
