Book club to host Q&A with popular Scottish author at Waterfront Cinema
AN INVERCLYDE book club is set to welcome a popular Scottish author to the Waterfront Cinema next week for a special event.
On The Same Page Book Club will host a question and answer session with Graeme Armstrong on November 27.
The group’s chosen read this month is Graeme’s acclaimed novel, The Young Team.
Inspired by his own experiences, the book dives into the realities of life for young people in Scotland.
It explores gang life on the streets, looking beyond tabloid stereotypes to tell a powerful story.
A six-part TV drama adaption of The Young Team is currently in the works, having been commission by BBC Scotland earlier this year.

The book club, run by friends Shereen Lafferty and Kelly Moran, generally meets monthly at One Bruce Street in Greenock.
Its November meet-up has been moved to the Waterfront Cinema to allow other fans of Graeme’s work to attend.
The last few tickets for the event are available online, priced at £14 per person.
