Northampton author’s debut novel picked for Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club

NORTHAMPTON — Asked to describe her novel in 10 seconds or less in a post on Instagram, author Emily Everett said: “Anna’s just moved to London. She’s broke and grieving and tutoring for wealthy families, so she falls in with this young London jet-set. And the trouble starts with one frenemy, two handsome men, and a closet full of clothes that aren’t hers.”
“All That Life Can Afford,” the Northampton resident’s debut novel, follows Anna, who moves to London following the death of her mother. Once she’s there, she realizes that London is not as glamorous as it seemed in the books of her hometown library, and she’s still stuck living a paycheck-to-paycheck life. That is until she meets the Wilders, who fly her to Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera to tutor their teenage daughter. Soon, Anna gets caught up in the whirlwind of the wealthy and their parties and expensive clothes.
