Garden District Book Shop Welcomes Author J. Michael Warner

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Garden District Book Shop is thrilled to host author J. Michael Warner for their new book “Charles Whitfield Richards: The Author and His Circle” on Wednesday, Sept. 10. 

Charles Whitfield Richards is the first book-length biography of the artist and journalist, whose career spanned Jazz Age Paris to modern New Orleans. He found himself at the center of the New Orleans art community from the 1930’s to the 1990’s, and illustrated Jeanne deLavigne’s memorable book, Ghost Stories of Old New Orleans.

Warner will sit down at 6 p.m. to talk about the book with fellow Ellis Anderson, author of “Under Surge, Under Siege,” followed by a Q&A. Afterwards, Warner will be available to sign and personalize copies of his book. The event is free and open to the public but interested parties are encouraged to RSVP and reserve their copy ahead of time on Eventbrite.
