Local author Stacy Brooks pens her first book, a contemporary work of fiction, “Her Message in a Bottle” was released on Jan. 22. It explores themes of resilience, addiction, healing and personal growth.
Through authentic characters and emotionally driven storytelling, Brooks, of Chester, invites readers into a narrative that reflects real-life struggles and triumphs.
“My goal is to tell a story people can relate to, one where they see themselves and know they are not alone,” Brooks said. “If this book helps even one person feel understood, supported, or inspired, then my mission is complete.”
“Her Message in a Bottle” follows Tiffany, a woman whose carefully constructed life begins to unravel, which forces her to confront heartbreak, addiction, and her deepest fears. Determined not to surrender to despair, Tiffany clings to faith and hope as she fights for her family and a path forward.
Brooks, a writer and artist, has had a lifelong passion for storytelling, which led to her first novel. Her work is rooted in honest conversations, emotional truth, and meaningful human connection.

Brooks, 54, a mother, grandmother, and adventure enthusiast, has a gift to tell stories.
“Throughout Stacy’s whole life, she has loved to tell stories, big ones, small ones, outlandish ones, funny ones, sad ones, and truthful ones,” Nita Hammond, Brooks’s mom, shared.
“I’m brimming with ideas and turn my creativity into reality through a variety of mediums,” Brooks said. “Writing a contemporary fictional book is just part of my journey.”
Art is also part of Brooks’s life and expression. In her youth, she won local art contests. She then expanded her knowledge and love for art by receiving a degree at Savannah College of Art and Design. In her spare time, when she’s not juggling one of her many jobs, working out, or cooking for loved ones, she’s likely off traveling and chasing her next great adventure.
Three Leg Run Brewery hosts book release party
In February, Brooks has been invited to speak and sign books at private events hosted by Junior Federated Woman’s Club of Chester and the Kiwanis Club of Chester.
The public is invited to attend a Book Release Party hosted by Three Leg Run Brewery Winery and Meadery from 1-3 p.m. on Feb. 15 at 4418 W. Hundred Road in Chester. Refreshments will be provided during the celebration.
