Best-selling novelist launches latest thriller at two sold-out Glasgow events
Bestselling author Lisa Jewell released her latest novel during a special event.
Psychological thriller Don’t Let Him In was launched in Glasgow during two sold-out Bookface Sip & Swap events hosted by Bookface founder and broadcaster Heather Suttie.
Across the two city centre gatherings, more than 250 guests attended for an evening of book swapping, drinks, and the opportunity to meet Ms Jewell in person.

Lisa Jewell’s writing career began on a dare after she was challenged to write three chapters in exchange for dinner.
The result was her debut novel, Ralph’s Party, which led to a £120,000 two-book deal and launched her writing career.
Since then, Ms Jewell has written 23 books and sold more than 15 million copies worldwide.
She is best known for her twist-filled thrillers, including The Family Upstairs, Then She Was Gone, The Night She Disappeared, and None of This Is True, which is currently being adapted for Netflix.
Now, the popular author’s newest novel is already climbing the bestseller charts, with audience questions at the Glasgow events suggesting that many in attendance had already read the book.
At the events, she discussed her writing process and answered questions from the audience during informal Q&A sessions, as well as offering fans the chance to get copies of Don’t Let Him In signed.

The Bookface Sip & Swap format has become a staple of Scotland’s literary scene.
Guests are invited to bring books to swap, listen to authors from all genres, and enjoy a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere.
Membership in the Bookface Facebook group is not required to attend, though the group now boasts nearly 5000 members.
Future Bookface events will feature more high-profile authors, including Liam McIlvanney, John Niven, Adele Parks, Sophie Gravia, and Dr Gillian Shirreffs.
The organisers are also planning to expand into new locations, with pop-up events expected across Scotland.
Heather Suttie said: “We believe books are for everyone.
“Whether you’re a hardcore crime fiction fan or just picking up your first book in years, you’re welcome at our events.
“There’s no pressure – just good conversation and brilliant writers.”
