New York Times Bestselling Author of the Longmire Mystery Novels Coming to Minnesota
(Mendota Heights, MN) – Wyoming cattle rancher and New York Times bestselling author Craig Johnson will be the featured author Monday evening, June 15, 2026, at Minnesota Mystery Night, a live monthly event featuring mystery/thriller authors in conversation.
Johnson’s appearance is a special stop on a tour showcasing his newest book, The Brothers McKay, which is the 22nd book in the Sheriff Walt Longmire series. The event takes place at Lucky’s 13 Pub in Mendota, Minnesota, beginning at 7 p.m. Johnson’s conversation partner will be popular Minnesota author William Kent Krueger.
Johnson is the author of the acclaimed Longmire series, a modern western classic for which he has written 22 novels, two novellas and multiple short stories. His Longmire books were adapted for a television series that ran six seasons on A&E and Netflix. The TV series was the highest-rated original drama on A&E, and several of the books in the series have been on the New York Times bestseller list.
Johnson’s novels are so popular that there is an annual Longmire Days festival in Buffalo, Wyoming, with Johnson and most of the cast members of the TV series attending.
In addition to his appearance at Minnesota Mystery Night, Johnson will be at Once Upon a Crime Bookstore in Minneapolis on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. signing his books, and he will be the guest on the cable TV show, Writers’ Corner.
